I know my feelings are 100% accurate about right and wrong because God wants me to be happy

Does God ever contradict my feelings? Does God care about my feelings?

If we’re not willing to submit ourselves to scripture even when it is costly and unpopular, it is possible we are not actually Christians in the biblical sense.

Christ confronts every culture at some point.

If the god we worship always agrees with us, we reveal that we don’t actually worship a real god, but a “Stepford god” that we have made up in our own mind (see the story of the Stepford Wives).

Our desires can also deceive us about what is true and good (Ephesians 4) and the fallen spiritual culture of the world around us can pressure us into its way of thinking (Romans 12).

Does it line up with a global perspective? e.g. persecuted church

Does it line up with Christ Himself?

So scripture must be our ultimate guide, even when there is pressure from inside and outside. We can rest knowing that Christ is worth it.
